Today we bring you The People Brunch (formerly The People Hostel), a place we really like and worth visiting for its brunch, but not only.
people it’s a huge hybrid place between bar, restaurant and hostel. Located in the Krutenau district, it is located in a former tobacco factory and covers more than 3500 m2numbers included. A buffet with maxi-sweet and savory dishes, all without extra money
Every Sundayteam The People now welcome Strasbourg(e.gc)from 12:00pm to 2:30pm for their Maxi Brunch. New to the establishment that renews this Sunday meeting.
Access by reservation (places are left quick), it brings together a beautiful range of small homemade snacks, hot and cold, that respect the seasonality. hey yes, every week the chef imagines his menu from fruits and vegetables that are available in the area: in winter, there are no more tomatoes and cucumbers.
For example, this Sunday on the menu we can find salty: agood selection of cheeses and meats, meatballs, sautéed mushrooms, fish nuggets, polenta fries, marinated chicken kebabs, hummus, Lorraine mini quiches, pretzels, falafel, soup, scrambled eggs, salad quinoa and beets or even pate.
On the sweet front, the buffet proposed : Croissants, chocolate sauce, blanc and muesli, homemade pear and chocolate chips, homemade tiramisu, waffles, fruit, homemade pies, carrot a cakeNutella and jams, but also unlimited juice (apple, strawberry and orange) as well as hot drinks: tea, hot milk and coffee.
Our take on The People brunch
The team People invest everything work so that we do not feel NO at home, and that’s why you get out of bed on Sundays. People come to enjoy a privileged moment for themselves and their guests. This time it’s good to forget about the dishes and cleaning up after the meal: the team takes care of us.
here the atmosphere is relaxed and the place is as atypical as it is huge. Generations meet and start conversations, that a place where one goes easily towards the other. Meanwhile, what could be better than an all-you-can-eat buffet to bond over?
Good value for money, the brunch is varied and we think it needs a lot of work : most of the dishes on offer to have home summer (except baked goods and pâtés)and it shows.
An affordable and family-friendly brunch is not for those who like high-end products or unlimited shellfish. It’s more reserved for people who like grandma’s little dishes, slow-cooked and full of flavor. It feels like a great summer cousinada!
Everything we tried worked, well done. Apart from two or three fresh salads, which may have been lacking to refresh our palates, we had a great time for a really not the price crazy!
