Are you hosting summer and don’t know what sweet to serve to complete the meal without overwhelming your guests? If the temperature is high, some recipes should be avoided. Forget about cream-based cakes, which risk turning and are difficult to digest. You should also give up chocolate: the heat will melt. In general, too sweet preparations are not appreciated, if heat wave settles down. I prefer fresh and light desserts, in particular, on the basis of red fruits and citrus fruits, which will bring the desired note of acidity. Watermelon, a sip of water is also a good idea, as is… a tomato! Feel free to add a few mint leaves to your recipes, whether it’s a pie, a sweet gazpacho or just a fruit salad. Even more original: basil, verbena or coriander. Finally, who will say dessert to make when it’s hot says ice cream and sorbets. You can make it at home with or without an ice cream maker. Serve with a few pieces of fresh fruit, a scoop and a small ice cream cookie.
