At the end of the year, raclette is an essential dish! Because it gives us pleasant moments with friends and great pleasure. Yet, if we can avoid the sight of love’s wrists, satisfaction will be complete. To make the most of your raclette moments, all you have to do is follow our 5 little tips!

Skipping the raclette is out of the question, because it’s a bit of indulgence we allow ourselves at the end of the year. To avoid feeling guilty, we give you 5 tips to make your raclette healthier.

Reduce your amount by:

Raclette is a hearty meal where you don’t stop until your stomach is full. Nothing prevents you from enjoying these pleasant moments, you just have to eat less of them. At your mealtime, take time to eat your food. Do not rush when you chew! (so that your brain sends satiety messages to your body). Grill your cheese slices one at a time and not all at once. Limit yourself to 6 slices of cheese and 125 to 150 grams of charcuterie.

Replace potatoes with vegetables:

You can add a small green salad on the side of your raclette for even more fun! If that’s already been the case for you, get more original by offering endive, sweet potatoes, squash, mushrooms… Not only are veggies lower in calories than potatoes, and they’re just as good as cheese. Regardless of your choice of vegetables, you’ll stay satisfied longer and pack on fewer calories.

Instead of raclette cheese, opt for canquilote which is much lower in calories and just as flavorful. Do not hesitate to introduce goat’s cheese, Forme d’Umbert, mozzarella if you prefer a variation of pleasure. You can play with the amount by heating your potatoes or vegetables in a small pan with small bits of cheese.

Choose good quality meat:

Raclette is often accompanied by cold meats rich in salt, which is a source of cholesterol. Choose your charcuterie carefully, or opt for white meat such as turkey breast.

Limit your alcohol intake:

We often serve alcohol with our raclette, but it doesn’t help lighten the dish. Try to reduce your alcohol consumption. This will make your food less caloric.

However, nothing prevents you from enjoying a simple raclette evening from time to time. The advice we gave you above allows you to change your happiness.
